Tuesday I had to have my glucose tolerance test done, which of course is AMAZING! Everyone wants to have three needles, drink a flat sort of lemonade and be starving! But on the plus side I was able to catch up on some much needed reading. In fact I love to read, I use to read so many books before I had kids, but I haven’t really had the chance since. I am now up to chapter 7 in The fault in our Stars. I love this book!!
Back to the glucose test – the lady had to ask if I was pregnant.. Hmm, yes I am – or is it still mistaken as just awkward chubbiness? I will just keep telling myself she is blind and you can actually tell now, because seriously I think you can! So in between reading my book what else is there to do but people watch – hello two hours sitting is pretty damn boring. There was a little boy that came in with his dad, he was a couple of months older than Sienna. The poor little man had to have blood taken and all I could hear was him crying – so of course I start crying. He came out and he looked so proud of himself that it went well, I couldn’t help but smile at him, what a brave kid. I know Sienna would probably be still going on about the horrific event for months! She would be going to preschool telling all of her friends how horrible I was. She fell over on Wednesday and scrapped her knee, it bled a tiny bit – oh my lord did she scream/cry/carry on! I am sure that people thought I was trying to cut her leg off or something! Still tonight she was still reminding me how her leg is sore, I’m sure everyone at preschool will hear about this tragic event!
I don’t know what came over me yesterday but I was Sadie the Cleaning Lady! I decided it was a great idea to do three loads of washing (which included all of our sheets), took it all off, remade all of the beds, cleaned our dining chairs, cleaned the girls little table and chairs, picked up the dog poo, brought the garbage bins in, vacuumed the car, vacuumed the house probably three times and moped. Maybe it is the “nesting” stage of pregnancy, maybe it is because I have so much energy from eating so well, or maybe I have just lost my mind? Whatever it is, it has its perks – I have a really clean house!
My Annie Sloan Chalk Paint should arrive today, I am so excited to start painting our dining table and entertainment unit! Tuesday night I went to Bunnings to pick up some paint brushes, steel wool and some sand paper – I was there for probably half an hour. I swear I read what every paint brush was for, walls, architraves, pergolas, you name it they have it! I finally ended up asking a lady for help, I had already picked up a couple of brushes and was wondering which one would be best for the wax, yes usually you do use a cloth for wax but Annie Sloan recommends to use her brushes. That is all fine and dandy, but her brushes are so expensive and frankly I can’t justify spending $80 on one brush. Seriously, I don’t even spend that much on clothes! Plus, what if this little creative project of mine turns to shit, then I am stuck with this super expensive brush – what do I do with it? Frame it? Pass it down to my daughters for generations to come? Anyways, I am pleased with myself as the lady said I had picked the right brushes – well look who is a professional crafty person now!
I will be post all about this creative adventure of mine, fingers crossed it turns out well!
